Marsha Marie Sweet

Marsha Marie Sweet, age 80, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, following a sudden illness. Mrs. Sweet was born on February 13, 1937, in Grundy, Virginia; a daughter of the late Burt and Ruby Nuckolls. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William R. Sweet and brother, James Nuckolls. Mrs. Sweet was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Galax, Virginia. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Martin of Galax, VA; sons and daughters-in-law: William and Denise Sweet of Toccoa, Timothy Sweet of Bristol, TN, and Bert and Rebecca Sweet of Alto; sister, Frances Keith of Fredericksburg, VA; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
