Marlin D. Griffin

MARLIN D. GRIFFIN, age 80, of Homer, GA, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at a private care facility. Mr. Griffin was born on October 5, 1925 in Banks County, Georgia. He was a son of the late Ralph and Ladie Wood Griffin and was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Griffin and a daughter June Patton. Mr. Grffin was a United States Army World War II veteran and was a member of the Banks County American Legion Post. He was a member of the Bethany Christian Church and a retired farmer. Survivors include: his wife: Elizabeth Griffin, Commerce, GA; 2 sisters: Irma Payne, Homer, GA; Jane Ervin, Gillsville, GA; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Tim Beasley and Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
