Marjorie Lucille Cook Blackburn, age 86, of Alto, GA, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Blackburn was born on March 29, 1923 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Bert and Lola Brady Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Floyd Blackburn, her sister, Mildred Payne, her brothers, Lloyd Cook, Lamon Cook, and Edwin Cook, her granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Blackburn, and her great grandson, Skyler Blackburn. Mrs. Blackburn was a member of the B.C. Grant Baptist Church and was retired from Gold's Department Store. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Ann and Ronnie Pritchett, Alto, GA; her daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Ricky Chitwood, Alto, GA; her son: Joe Blackburn, Cornelia, GA; her grandchildren: Tammy Owens, Kenny Blackburn, Josh Blackburn, Justin Blackburn, Chris and Jennifer Chitwood, Ryan Chitwood, Jeff and Amanda Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, and Jennifer and Robert Bone; her great-grandchildren: Aaron and Ryan Williams, Joey and Megan Blackburn, Kailey and Caleb Blackburn, Braden Blackburn, McKenzie and Maverick Chitwood, Molly and Jacob Mitchell, Brandon, Taylor and Jentry Mitchell, and Hayden and Jensyn Bone; her favorite nieces: Deborah Campbell, Patricia Hill, Elaine Wilbanks, and Sue Philyaw. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from the B.C. Grant Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Harris, Rev. Doyal Conly and Mr. Ronnie Pritchett officiating. Interment will follow in the B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, September 11, 2009.
