Marie Elizabeth Gunter Shell, age 62, of Baldwin, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Shell was born in Oconee County. She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar O. Gunter, brothers, Jerrell, James, and Jimmy Gunter, sister-in-law, Judy Gunter. Mrs. Shell was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Survivors include: mother & step father: Catherine Norris Queen & Olan Queen, Cornelia; daughter & son-in-law: Gail and Rick Fairclough, daughter: Gwen Lowden, son: Charles Wayne Johnson Jr., all of Baldwin, son & daughter-in-law: Jimmy and Lisa Johnson, Cornelia; sister & brother-in-law Peggy & Gene Pruitt, Cornelia, GA; a special friend: Larry Taylor, Demorest, GA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. James Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, November 12, 2007 at the funeral home.
