Maggie Clara Evans

Maggie Clara Evans, age 93, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Ms. Evans was born on April 2, 1925, in Mt. Airy, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Lawrence and brothers: Claude Evans, Clifford Evans, and Bill Evans. Ms. Evans retired from Mount Vernon Mills with 17 years of service. She was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and the Willing Workers/Good News Sunday School Class. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Christine Evans of Cleveland; sisters, Betty Lathan of Mt. Airy and Janie Lomax of Braselton; grandsons and spouses, Joshua and Erica Evans and Michael and Donna Evans, all of Cleveland; great-granddaughter, Madison Clara Evans of Cleveland; special cousins, Louvene Chitwood and Doris Daniels; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the funeral home.
