Luz Dary Vasquez

Luz Dary Vasquez, age 65 of Alto, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 22, 2015 following an extended illness. She was born June 13, 1950 in Manizales, Colombia to the late Alicia Vasquez. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Vasquez attended St. Mark Catholic Church. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodrigo Guevara. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and David Cook of Cornelia, Luz Marina and Gustavo Gomez, Sandra and Marcelo Rodriguez; son and daughter-in-law, Carlos and Luz Adriana Guevara, all of Manizales, Colombia; grandchildren, Camila Cifuentes, Juan Manuel Guevara, William Cook, Maria Antonia Guevara, Tyler Cook, Jessica Cook, Sarita Rodriguez, Jacobo Ossa, Tomas Rodriguez; great-grand-children, Mariana Galeano, and Santiago Galeano. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Father Jose Luis Hernandez-Ayala officiating. The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015.
