Lunette Swanson Hamby

LUNETTE SWANSON HAMBY, age 88, of Clarkesville, GA, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Cleveland, GA, following an extended illness. Mrs. Hamby was born on September 22, 1923 in Acworth, Georgia to the late Lafayette and Ruby Mae Davenport Swanson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hamby, a sister, Alethea Hughes, and a brother, Hartley Swanson. Mrs. Hamby was a member of the Cornelia Presbyterian Church and was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother. Mrs. Hamby and her husband, Ben, were very active in Sharing and Caring in Cornelia. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law: Beverly H. and Jerre Harvard, Clarkesville, GA; Barbara H. and Richard Pletsch, Sautee, GA; her grandchildren: Jay Harvard, Valerie Wells, Jason Pletsch, and Michael Pletsch; her great-grandchildren: Benjamin Harvard, Magnus Harvard, Haley Wells, and Abby Wells. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Cornelia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Pletsch officiating. A private interment will be held. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
