Lucy Belle Riggins Stephens

LUCY BELLE RIGGINS STEPHENS, age 97, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013. Mrs. Stephens was born in Liberty, South Carolina on October 12, 1916, to the late William Thomas and Sally Ruth Bentley Riggins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. Stephens, son, Randy Lee Stephens, brothers, Hovie and Burce Riggins, sisters, Thelma Alexander, Vaudie Carroll and Kathryn Perry. Mrs. Stephens was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Carwood Manufacturing Company. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Earl Ivester, Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Allyson Stephens, Roswell; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Stephens was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Chris Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ricky Wade officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest Georgia.
