Louise Gerrin Acrey

Louise Gerrin Acrey, age 86, of Cornelia, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2016 following an extended illness. Mrs. Acrey was born on May 31, 1930, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Albert and Altia Payne Gerrin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Acrey and sister, Evelyn Bellamy. Mrs. Acrey was a member of B. C. Grant Baptist Church. She was retired from Ethicon with 35 plus years of loyal and dedicated service. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ronnie Crocker, Alto, GA; son, Jimmy Acrey, Cornelia, GA; sister, Lorene Murray, Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Christy and husband, Trent Goss, Alto, GA, Angela and husband, George Catchings, Decatur, GA; great-grandchildren, Eli Goss, Sarah Grace Goss, and Trevor Catchings. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in V. F. W. Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
