Lonnie B. Bloodworth, Sr.

Lonnie B. Bloodworth,Sr., age 90, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 01, 2012. Mr. Bloodworth was born in Milton, Georgia on September 1, 1921 to the late Lonzo and Ollie Jane Christopher Bloodworth. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a wife, Marion Hubbard Bloodworth, daughter, Mary Janet Bloodworth and son, Richard Dean Bloodworth. Mr. Bloodworth was a Veteran of United States Army where he served in World War II. He was a retired cook and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Georgia. Survivors include mother of his children, Beatrice Edwards Bloodworth, Lilburn, GA; daughters, Corless L. Singleton, Lilburn, GA, and Hilda Giles, Woodstock, GA; his sons, Lonnie B. Bloodworth, Jr., Monroe, GA, Tommy Bloodworth, Sebring, FL, and Eddie Bloodworth, Dacula, GA; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mr. Bloodworth is the last of his immediate family. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, February 3, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
