Lois Rogers Martin

LOIS ROGERS MARTIN, AGE 86, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012, following a sudden illness. Mrs. Martin was born in Rabun County, on May 1, 1926, to the late Ira and Annie Harkins Rogers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clarence Martin. She was a member of Midway Mission Church. She was a full-time dedicated Christian Homemaker and mother. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Norris, Toccoa, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joy Martin, Cornelia, GA; sisters, Margie Martin, Demorest, GA and Marie Edmonds, Mt. City, GA; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Jason Thornton and Rev. Aaron Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2012 and Monday, August 13, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
