Lois Morgan Franklin

Lois Morgan Franklin, age 96, of Mount Airy, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Friday, February 16, 2018. Mrs. Franklin was born on August 12, 1921 in Carnesville, Georgia to the late Will and Clifford Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Franklin; sisters, Marie Rodacker, Aline Hickman; brothers, Dorsey Morgan, Thomas “Bush” Morgan. Mrs. Franklin was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She truly epitomized the word homemaker. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Warren Hencely, of Mt. Airy; daughter, Claudia Lyle, of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Theresa Born, of Cleveland; Truitt and Jan Franklin, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Marsha Matchim, Jeff Ferguson, Bryan Ferguson, David Lyle, Deborah Neilson, Blake Franklin, Ashley Ivester; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Franklin was the last surviving member of both her and Mr. Franklin’s families. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Webb and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating, and eulogy by her son, Rev. Truiit Franklin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
