Lillie Glover Land

Lillie Glover Land, age 85, of Cornelia, Georgia, and formerly of Columbus Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at a local medical center. Mrs. Land was born in Columbus Mississippi, on October 13, 1926, to the late Thomas J. and Lillie Brandon Glover. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Glover Clarke, and brothers, Thomas Glover, Jr., James Glover and William P. Glover. Mrs. Land was a member of the Plymouth Baptist Church, Columbus, Mississippi and a retired secretary. Survivors include husband, John W. Land, Cornelia, GA; daughters, Betsy Dye, Mt. Airy, GA, Ceci Land, Starkville, MS and Claire Hamilton, Hattiesburg, MS; sister, Mildred Loftis, Columbus, MS; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at a later date with a burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS.
