Lillian Mcever Mayfield Watkins

LILLIAN MCEVER MAYFIELD WATKINS, age 86, of Clarkesville, Georgia, formerly of the Rome, Georgia area, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010, following a brief illness. Mrs. Watkins was born in Polk County, Georgia on July 2, 1924, to the late Robert and Gertrude Bolinger McEver. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph S. Mayfield in 1967 and her second husband, Thomas Watkins in 2004. Mrs. Watkins retired from Klopman Mills as a training instructor with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Mayfield Fowler and Rev. Wayne Fowler, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Randy S. and Donna Mayfield, Claxton, GA; 4 grandchildren, Karis and Preston Fowler, Clarkesville, GA and Abbey and Allison Mayfield, Claxton, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at the Talley Funeral Home Chapel in Rome, GA with Rev. Ken Hinkley and Rev. Wayne Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Aragon Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2010, at Talley Funeral Home, 2516 New Calhoun Hwy. NE, Rome, GA 30161.
