Lettie Sue Nelms Wikle Wood

Lettie Sue Nelms Wikle Wood, age 87, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 following an extended illness. Mrs. Wood was born on July 18, 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lewis Bowman and Lillie Bell Steed Nelms. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, and was retired from the Forsyth County Board of Education with 14 years of loyal and dedicated service. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, John Billy Wikle; second husband, James "Jake" Wood; and granddaughter, Bell Leigh Payne. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Lea and Jeff Threlkeld, of Clarkesville; Martha Bell and Kenneth Payne of Gainesville; and Maggie and Terry Henry, of Bend, OR; son and daughter-in-law, John Arthur and Ann Wikle, of Cornelia; brother, Lewis Billy Nelms, of Griffin; grandchildren,W04 Jonathan Bret Wikle, William Blake Wikle, Carey Jo Anderson, Victoria Sue Olivares, Lt. Kenneth Billy Jake Payne, John Austin Dawkins, Tiffany Louise Ericksen, Brie Alyson Freeman; 13 great grandchildren. Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating.
