Leon Kimbrell

Leon Kimbrell, age 80, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Mr. Kimbrell was born on July 16, 1937 in Stephens County, Georgia to the late Weldon and Doris Farmer Kimbrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Kimbrell, and Grover Talmadge Kimbrell. Mr. Kimbrell was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired co-owner of Kimbrell's Grocery for a number of years, and loved gardening. Survivors include his loyal companion, Barbara Pendergrass, of Clarkesville; niece, nephew, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2017 at the funeral home.
