LEFTY ROGERS, age 58, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Rogers was born on January 9, 1953, in Clayton, Georgia, to Thelma Rogers of Cornelia, Georgia and to the late D.L. Rogers. He was employed with Versacold in Gainesville, Georgia, before becoming disabled. Mr. Rogers was of the Church of God faith and attended Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Dorothy Rogers, Clarkesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Troy Harty, Ft. Towson, OK, Dotsie and Scott Ramey, Cleveland, GA, and Buffy and Michael Fry, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Lynn Rogers, Clarkesville, GA; sisters, Cherylin R. Wood and Sandra R. King, both of Cornelia, GA; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Jerry Martin and Rev. Richard Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
