Lee Baird Jackson, age 92, formerly of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Mrs. Jackson was born on December 31, 1923 in Jackson County, Georgia. She was a member of Millege Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and owner and operator of Lee Bee Ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Coy and Mary Margaret Melissa Couch Archer; and her husband, Joseph L. "Doc" Baird. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dale and Charles Freeman, of Watkinsville; Nancy and Kenneth Wilkinson, of Baldwin; Carole and Chester Sosebee, of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Gail Baird, of Winder; Wesley and Marilyn Baird, of Lawrenceville; sister, Joyce Nash, of Marietta; brothers, Tony Archer, of Danielsville; Herschel Eugene Archer, of Morrow; 10 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Tates Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating and comments by granddaughter, Rev. Lee Sosebee Ritchie. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Tates Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 4052 Highway 184, Toccoa, Georgia 30577.
