Leco Armour

LECO ARMOUR, age 102 of Alto, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, following a recent illness. Mr. Armour was born in Hall County, Georgia on February 22, 1910; he was the son of Ben and Kezzie Kate Davidson Armour. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Polly Waters Armour; daughter and son-in-law, Geneva A and J.C. Wade; sons, Perry and Taft Armour; son-in-law, Lloyed Wade; daughter-in-law, Wanda J., Beluah L. and Barbara O. Armour; grandson, Donald Armour. Mr. Armour was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, 6 brothers. He was of the Holiness Faith. He was a farmer, a saw miller, and avid Coon Hunter. Survivors include daughters, Imogene A. Wade, Demorest, GA and Patsy Armour, Alto, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Ferguson, Doris and Walter Jones, all of Alto, GA and Joydean and Jerry Martin, Cornelia, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Bennie and Rose Armour, Ralph and Faye Armour, all of Alto, GA and L.J. and Marie Armour, Cornelia, GA; daughter-in-law, Montine D. Armour, Alto, GA; 30 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Lester Haynes, Rev. Brandon South and Rev. John Dubois. Interment will follow in the St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 27, and Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
