Launa Viola Helton

LAUNA VIOLA HELTON, age 86, of Cornelia, Georgia, formerly of White County, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011. Ms. Helton was born on April 28, 1925, in White County, Georgia; a daughter of the late Alex and Dellie Smith Helton. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Ms. Helton was a retired employee of Mt. Vernon Mills with 20 years of service. She was a member of the New Bridge Baptist Church in Cleveland, Georgia. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Lenoria Helton, Cornelia, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Truit and Jeannie Helton, Cleveland, GA; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Verner London and Rev. W.A. Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
