Larry Gene Dodd

LARRY GENE DODD, age 58, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Dodd was born on April 8, 1952, in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Morris Gene and Virginia Louise McGee Dodd. Before becoming disabled, Mr. Dodd was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Old Path Holiness Church in Clayton, Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dodd, Lula, GA; sons, Jimmy Rufus Dodd, Lula, GA and James Morris Dodd, Russellville, AL; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Dodd, Russellville, AL; step-daughters, Rebekah Souane and Hannah Ruth, both of Lula, GA; sisters, Marcia V. Oliver, Alto, GA and Virginia D. Thomas, Cullowhee, NC; brothers, Troy D. Dodd, Toccoa, GA, Raleigh D. Dodd, Tuskaseegee, NC, and P. Wade Dodd, Lavonia, GA; and 11 grandchildren, Zack Lowery, Brett Dodd, Tristan Lowery, Brittany Dodd, Zeke Lowery, Dakota Phimmachack, Vincent Souane, Ethan Beady, Elijah Ruth, Minah Ruth, and Brianna Hollingsworth. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Pastor Joel Bright officiating. Interment will follow in Living Mission Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
