Lamar C. Whitmire

LAMAR C. WHITMIRE, age 89, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Mr. Whitmire was born in Habersham County, Georgia on May 12, 1923, to the late Carl and Ninnie Nunn Whitmire. He was a truck driver for Akers Motor Lines with many years of service. Survivors include sisters, Miriam Bentley and Carlton Blackburn, both of Cornelia, GA; nephew, Kim Blackburn, Dacula, GA; and nieces, Kay Snyder, Southaven, MS, and Donna Bouwsma, Athens, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. David Turner and Rev. Jay Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
