Kenneth Pope Rawlins, age 67, of Homer, GA formerly of Dacula GA went to be with the Lord, Friday, February 2, 2007 at Lanier Park Hospital from an extended illness. He retired from the city of Dacula as the superintendent of Public Water Works after seventeen years. He is preceded in death, by his father WK Rawlins, mother Clemmie Rawlins of Harlem, Georgia; a brother Jack Rawlins of Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Rawlins leaves behind a loving wife, Gladys Rawlins; Children: son: Mr. and Mrs. Greg Rawlins of Cumming Georgia; daughter: Dana Price of Homer GA; Three Grandchildren: Will and Sam Rawlins of Cumming GA; Lauren Tullis of Homer GA; one brother: Mr. and Mrs. William Rawlins of Martinez, GA; three sisters: Mr. and Mrs. Duran and Ann McMillian of Grayson, GA; Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Jetta Moon of Harlem, GA; Mr. and Mrs. John and Peggy McMillian of Eatonton, GA. Mr. Rawlins was a member and deacon of Double Springs Baptist Church in Demorest, GA Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday February 5, 2007 at Whitfield Funeral Home. North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Lamar Kastner, Rev. Jack Pierce and Rev. Anthony Cook. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Sunday February 4, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Double Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
