Kathryn Anne Sovey

Kathryn Anne Sovey, age 55, died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage on May 2, 2009 at her home in Cary, NC. Kathy was born in Elberton, GA. She is the daughter of Terrell and Anne Sovey of Spartanburg. Kathy retired after a long career with Northern Telecom at the Research Triangle Park in Raleigh, NC. After attending Columbia College, she graduated from Florida State University and obtained a Master's in Education from Converse College. Also surviving is her sister Jacquelyn Brennan of Cartersville, GA. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Louis Terrell Sovey, III, and grandmother, Kathryn White Sovey. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest, GA. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 pm at the Sovey family site, Nacoochee United Methodist Church cemetery, White County, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Converse College, Spartanburg, SC. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
