KATHRYN LULA NICHOLSON JAMES, age 89, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. James was born on August 5, 1923, in Clarkesville, Georgia; daughter of the late Emory and Alice Jarrell Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Lamar James, Sr.; daughter, Wanda L. Harris; brother, Corbitt Nicholson; and sisters, Grace Roberts and Hazel Patterson. Mrs. James was a beautician and a member of Hillside Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Marsha James, Clarkesville, GA; son-in-law, Cal Harris, Charlotte, NC; sister, Helen Holt, Hurst, TX; brother, Boyd Nicholson, Kings Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Laura Blackwelder, Amie Dickerson, Kari James, Whitney Jones, and Chad Harris; and great-grandchildren, Abbie Dickerson, Joshua Dickerson, Eveleigh Jones, Preston Jones, Copeland Jones, and Emma Harris. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Larry Free and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the funeral home.
