Kathleen Whitmire

Kathleen Whitmire, age 90, of Mount Airy, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020. Mrs. Whitmire was born on April 24, 1930 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Melvin and Mamie Mullinax Cochran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Whitmire; sister. Lorene Hudgens; and brother, Earl Cochran. Mrs. Whitmire was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Kathleen was a very loving and caring mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lynne Whitmire, of Westminister, SC; grandchildren, Maegdelyn Morris and Greg, of Cincinatti, OH; Elizabeth Whitmire, Seattle, WA; Porter Whitmire and Kate, of Greenville; Tyler Whitmire, of Eugene, OR; Paralee Walls and Aaron, of Boulder, CO; Neelie Smith and Steve, Mt. Airy; great-grandchildren, Molly Morris-Wickizer, Nola Morris, Luca Whitmire, Julia Whitmire, Anna Ruby Whitmire, Robert Whitmire, Gus Whitmire, Atlas Whitmire Bwye, Ansel Walls, Harlen Walls, Sawyer Smith, Allison Rose Smith, and Makenna Smith. A Private Graveside Service will be held at the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery of Gainesville, Georgia.
