Katherine Wall Powell

KATHERINE WALL POWELL, age 86, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013, at a local area hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Powell was born in Clarkesville, Georgia on June 2, 1927, to the late Floyd and Stella Franklin Wall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clelmer Hayes Powell; son, Danny Powell; sister, Ruby Thurmond and brother, Lewis Wall. Mrs. Powell was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Survivors include daughters, Sue Powell, Demorest, Carol Humphrey, Byron, Jean Powell, Mt. Airy, and Gwen Clark, Mt. Airy; sisters, Stella Holbrook, Hollywood and Ruth Thurmond, Rabun Cap; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
