Katherine Goss York

Katherine Goss York, age 93, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, following an extended illness. Mrs. York was born on January 7, 1919, in White County to the late William Robert and Rosa Louana Freeman Goss. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Dick" York, daughter-in-law, Barbara Hogan York, and brothers, Leonard and Amos Goss. Mrs. York was a homemaker and formerly employed with Carwood Manufacturing Company. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Eddie Miles, Baldwin, GA; son, Bobby York, Cornelia, GA; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. York was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Herb Chisenhall officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
