Joseph Alfred Webb, Sr.

JOSEPH ALFRED WEBB, SR., age 88, of 1126 Thames Street, Christchurch, New Zealand, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013. Mr. Webb was born on January 10, 1925, in Clarkesville, Georgia, to the late Allie and Mae Webb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Locke Webb; daughter, Joan Webb; sister, Allie Mae Webb; and brother, Charles Webb. Mr. Webb was a United States Navy Veteran having served in World War II. He was an electronics engineer, a college professor, and a Christian. Survivors include his daughters, Elizabeth, Sara, and Jody; sons, Joseph and Mark; sisters, Kitty Faulkner, Louise Bassinger, and Betty Ottman; brothers, Carl Webb and Bobby Webb; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia. Full military honors will be provided by the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.
