John "Johnny" Volie Reepe, Jr.

John "Johnny" Reepe, Jr., age 81, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Mr. Reepe was born on December 1, 1943 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late John Volie Reepe, Sr. and Jesse Ruth Chapman Reepe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Reepe; nephews, Jason Reepe, Keith Dodgins; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Palmer and Tom Wilson.

John was a United States Armed Forces Veteran, entering the Army in September of 1966 and bravely serving during the Vietnam War. Beyond his military service, John was known for his passion for automotive work, as he deeply enjoyed working on vehicles. He also cherished his annual deep sea fishing trips to the North Carolina Coast. In addition to his love for fishing, John's passion for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of camping, nurturing wildlife, and spending cherished moments with his pets. Later in life, John enjoyed attending, Christ Fellowship Church in Dawsonville.

Survivors include his sisters, Wanda Palmer, of Braselton; Anita Wilson, of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Mike Chambers, of Zebulon, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Courtney Ratliff and David Faircloth for the care they have shown over the last several years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Interment will follow at the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the funeral home prior to the service.
