John Elijah Purcell

JOHN PURCELL, age 74, of Cornelia, GA passed away Thursday, April 09, 2009. Mr. Purcell was born July 15, 1934 in Stephens County, GA to the late Mr. C.C. and Addie Cash Purcell. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis, Charles, and Billy B. Purcell. Mr. Purcell was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran. Mr. Purcell was a retired employee with Habersham Hardware and Home Center with over 30 years of service. Survivors include wife, Marie Hunter Purcell, Cornelia, GA; daughter, Tammy Brich, Mt. Airy, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Wayne Murphy, Alto, GA, Pat and Randy Mizer, Commerce, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Latrelle and R.J. Norton, Alto, GA; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Billy Burrell and Dr. Bill Barrs officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Creek Cemetery.
