John Edward Moore

John Edward Moore, age 83, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Moore was born in South Carolina on January 7, 1929, to the late F.E. and Hazel Mullinax Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, David Paul Moore. Mr. Moore was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for a number of years and also served as a deacon. He retired from the United States Army reserve with 30 years of dedicated service to his country. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Morrison Moore, Clarkesville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, John Eugene and Patti Moore, Snellville, GA, Jim E. and Pat Moore, Dalton, GA, and Michael and Audrey Moore, Flowery Branch, GA; sister, Martha Brock, Starke, FL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012, Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
