John Kimsey Stephens

JOHN KIMSEY STEPHENS, age 89, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Mr. Stephens was born on May 21, 1922, in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Johnny K. and Florence Kimsey Stephens. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Genevieve and Jesse Duncan; his brother, Ernest Stephens; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Katie and Hoyt Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Clay Beck and Carlton Beck. Mr. Stephens was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Beck Stephens, Alto, GA; nephew and his wife, Aubrey and Jill Duncan, Collierville, TN; great-niece, Ashton Duncan, Collierville, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Troy and Beth Beck, Mt. Airy, GA; sisters-in-law, Clara Lee Petrie and Frances Hopkins, both of Mt. Airy, GA; several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Wayne Strickland and Rev. Phillip Yarber officiating. Interment will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
