John "Eddie" Pruitt

JOHN "EDDIE" PRUITT, age 48, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his residence. Eddie was born on September 20, 1964, in Demorest, Georgia, to Fannie Mae Mote of Demorest and the late Hillard Osborn Pruitt. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Scott Pruitt. Eddie was employed with the United States Postal Service with 14 years of service. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of Demorest Baptist Church. Eddie was a loving father and husband. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Tracey Shedd Pruitt; daughter, Hallie Pruitt; and son, Jordan Pruitt, all of Cornelia, GA; sisters, Hilda Pruitt, Cornelia, GA, Barbara Foster, Mt. Airy, GA, and Gale Weaver, Demorest, GA; brothers, Gene Pruitt, Carlsbad, New Mexico and Patrick Pruitt, Gainesville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery with military honors provided. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the funeral home.
