John Alvin Moore

JOHN ALVIN MOORE, age 71, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012. Mr. Moore was born in Habersham County, Georgia on January 20, 1941, to the late Hemmon Patrick and Phillip Inez Pruitt Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Williams Moore, son, Casey Moore, brothers, Talmadge and Phillip Moore. Mr. Moore was a retired truck driver for Haynes Trucking Company with 30 years of service and a former truck driver for Fieldale Farms with several years of service. He attended Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors include daughters, Lisa Gibbs, Alto, GA, Rachel Moore, Clarkesville, GA and Mollie Renee Moore Hicks, Demorest, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Ann Marie Moore, Cleveland, GA; sisters, Mollie Sue Mote, Baldwin, GA and Reta Ballew, Alto, GA; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell, Rev. Jesse Whitworth and Rev. Kendall Mann officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery, Mt. Airy, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
