JOAN MCENTIRE, age 82, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014. Mrs. McEntire was born on January 2, 1932 in Cleveland, Georgia to the late George Pledger and Vernie Armor Boggs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reece Lee McEntire; son, Greg McEntire; daughter, Becky Gibby; sister, Eula Mae Dorsey; brother, Paul Boggs. Mrs. McEntire was employed with approximately thirty years of service with Ethicon, a division of Johnson and Johnson. She was of the Holiness faith. Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Long, Cornelia, GA; son and daughter in law, Terry and Sandra McEntire, Alto, GA; brothers, Jimmy Boggs, Cleveland, GA, Ivan Boggs, Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Josh McEntire, Jeremy McEntire, Celeste Wood, Trey Gibby, Billy Long, Mary Conwright; twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Paul Flynn officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
