Jewell Pruitt Maney, Sr.

JEWELL PRUITT MANEY, SR., age 87, of Baldwin, GA, died Monday, May 22, 2006 at a private care facility. Mr. Maney was born on October 13, 1918 in Banks County, Georgia. He was a son of Richard Rolland and Rosa Mae White Maney and was also preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lucille Nix Maney, son, Jewell Pruitt Maney, Jr., as well as four brothers, Voyce, Milus, Arthur, and Rad Maney. Mr. Maney was a charter member of the Demorest Church of God. He was the owner of Maney's Suit Shop, Toccoa, GA. Survivors include: his daughters and sons-in-law: Sue and Melvin King, Cornelia, GA; Shirlee and Jarrell Williams, Cornelia, GA; his sons and daughters-in-law: Leonard and Jeanette Maney, Baldwin, GA; Larry and Jane Maney, Baldwin, GA; Bobby and Vicki Maney, Baldwin, GA; Sisters: Willie Dorsey, Cornelia, GA; Irene Maney, Cleveland, GA; Winnie Gabriels, Demorest, GA; Brothers: Bob Maney, Decatur, GA; Clyde Maney, Cornelia, GA; Monroe Maney, Austelle, GA; Richard Maney, Cornelia, GA; 7 grandchildren: Michael Maney, Kateringburg, Russia; Karin Chumney, Acworth, GA; Tyler Maney, Homer, GA; Alisha Landers, Nicholson, GA; Jeff Williams, Alto, GA; Jackie Chowdhury, Oakwood, GA; Amanda Davis, Buford, GA; 3 great-grandchildren: Clint Ballew, Madysen Williams, Macey Williams, and Libby Maney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Rev. Bill Cox and Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jason Thornton officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
