Janie Phillips Standridge

JANIE PHILLIPS STANDRIDGE, age 82, of Alto, GA, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at a local health care facility. Mrs. Standridge was born on July 9, 1924 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Larkin Brabson and Viola Armour Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kelley Boyd Standridge and a son-in-law Howard Ivester. Mrs. Standridge was a homemaker and was of the holiness faith. Survivors include: Daughter and Son-in-law: Brenda and Roy Thomas, Alto, GA: Daughter: Mildred Ivester, Hollywood, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law: Joyce and Leon Gibbs, Cornelia, GA; Son and Daughter-in-law: Wendell and Rose Standridge, Alto, GA; Son: Wayne Standridge, Cumming, GA; Sister: Sybil Trotter, Clarkesville, GA; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the Alto Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Jacob Armour and Rev. Billy Autry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Donald Wade officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Mrs. Standridge will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday to lie in state until the funeral hour.
