James Michael Welch

James Michael Welch, age 53, of Phil Campbell, Alabama, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 following an extended illness. Mr. Welch was born on November 6, 1956 in Clayton, GA. He was preceded in death by his father James Odell Welch. Mr. Welch attended St. Paul's Baptist Church in Phil Campbell, AL. He was a retired computer technician in the information technology industry. Survivors include his mother, Edith M. Welch, Alto, GA; his sister, Sharon Chambers Drake, Alto, GA, his brothers, Ed Fitzgerald, Charlotte, NC and Glenn Fitzgerald, Covington, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with the Rev. Glenn Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:15 p.m. just prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
