James William Wade

JAMES WILLIAM WADE, age 83, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Wade was born on June 22, 1927, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Randell and Ida Stamey Wade. He was a United States Army Veteran, having proudly served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wade was a retired mechanic of Stovall Tractor Company with 31 years of service. He was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720 and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15. Mr. Wade was also a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Annie Bell Gerrell Wade, of the home; son, Kenneth Wade, Alto, GA; sister, Louise Thompson, Alto, GA; and brothers, Howard Wade and Charles Wade, both of Demorest, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paris Whitworth officiating and with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, and the Habersham County American Legion Post #84. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mt.
