JAMES "JIMMY" E. COCHRAN, age 69, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013, at home surrounded by family and friends followed by an extended illness. Mr. Cochran was born on November 17, 1943, in Dillsboro, North Carolina; son of the late Ernest Cochran and Helen Shane Jones Cochran Warren. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Cochran, brother, Larry Cochran, and step-father, Worth Warren. Mr. Cochran was the cooler coordinator with Fieldale Corporation for over 25 years. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. Jimmy loved fishing, and was a longtime community softball coach. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Grace Simmons Cochran, Cornelia, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Matt Hudlow, Alto, GA; two very loved grandchildren, Maddie and Gabe Hudlow; sister, Mary Funk, Cornelia, GA; brother, Cecil Cochran, Dillsboro, NC; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and two best friends, Jimmy Barrett and Jerry Croy, both of Cornelia, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Paul Wright and Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Brother Gerald Hudlow officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the funeral home.
