James E. Payne

James E. Payne, age 85, of Baldwin, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013, at a local nursing home. Mr. Payne was born in Habersham County on December 30, 1927; to the late Henry and Florence Parker Payne. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Willodean Tidwell Payne. He was retired employee of City of Cornelia where he was a maintenance operator of the water department. Survivors include sister, Anna Belle Ivester, Baldwin, also nieces and nephews. Funeral services are schedule for 12 p.m., on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Austin Ivester officiating. Interment will follow in the B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
