James Hubert Carlyle

James Hubert Carlyle, age 91, of Alto, GA passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 following an extended illness. Mr. Carlyle was born in Hall County, GA on October 29, 1917 to the late James Moses and Crissey Azalee Stephens Carlyle. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Azzie Dalton Carlyle, brother, Hoyt Carlyle, sister, Arbele Pethel. Mr. Carlyle was a member at the Chatahoochee Baptist Church and a farmer. Survivors include wife, Amberson Wade Carlyle, Alto, GA; sons, Jerome Carlyle, Clarkesville, GA and Kenneth Carlyle, Cleveland, GA; 5 step-children; sister, Nettie Martin, Pendergrass, GA; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 4 p.m. from the Chatahoochee Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Gravely officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Carlyle will lie in state at the church from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA on Monday, March 30, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-9.
