Izora Coley Myers

Izora Coley Myers, age 91, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Mrs. Myers was born in Habersham County, Georgia on March 23, 1921; she was the daughter of the late Cleve and Arlevy Wade Coley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughters, Brenda Gail Myers and Elaine Myers Manus, her son, Marshall Gene Myers, and her son-in-law, Joel Manus. Mrs. Myers worked for Habersham County Schools at Baldwin Elementary as a school food service technician for 16 years. She loved to travel and always enjoyed her flowers. Mrs. Myers attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, John H. Myers, Sr.; daughters and son-in-laws, Wanda Myers and James Thompson, Alto, GA, Geraldine Myers and Jerry Nunnally, Cornelia, GA and Carol Myers and Donald Lord, Baldwin, GA; son and daughter-in-law, John Hamilton "Hamp" Myers, Jr. and Joyce Ballew Myers, Alto, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Murrell and Grady Autry, Alto, GA ; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grand children, and 6 Great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2012, at Alto Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Aubrey McIntyre and Rev. Leon Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, from Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
