Irene Caudell Scroggs

IRENE CAUDELL SCROGGS, age 89, of Cornelia, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Habersham County Medical Center. Mrs. Scroggs was born on April 1, 1917 in Habersham County, Georgia. She was a daughter of the late Claude and Ida Mae Morris Caudell and was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Scroggs. Mrs. Scroggs was a member of the Cornelia First Baptist Church and the Susan Anderson Circle as well as the Group Leader of the 3 L's Sunday School Class at her church. She was the Owner and Operator of Star's Restaurant in Baldwin. She was also employed with Carwood Manufacturing for three years and Belk Department Store for six years. Survivors include: her daughter, Linda Kaye Wilkes, Cornelia, GA; her son, Jack Anthony Scroggs, Athens, GA; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Dr. T. Logan Smith and Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
