Irene Carter Goss

IRENE CARTER GOSS, age 91, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at a private care facility following an extended illness. Mrs. Goss was born on November 10, 1921, in White County, Georgia; daughter of the late Eddie and Willie Quillan Murray Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim H. Goss; brothers, George, James, Benny, and Edward Carter; and sister, Fannie Chadwick. Mrs. Goss was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Bill Hulsey and Sylvia and Walter Poole, all of Demorest, GA; sister, Sarah Irvin, Demorest, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Lisa Hulsey and Jason and Julie Poole; great-grandchildren, Brandon Hulsey and his wife, Ashlee, and Bradley Hulsey; and one great-great-grandchild, Braydon Hulsey. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Garvis Kinsey and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
