Idus Sosebee

July 5, 1937 — September 20, 2011

Idus G. Sosebee, age 74, of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2011, at Stephens County Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Sosebee was born in Habersham County on July 5, 1937, to the late Edgar and Myrtle Sisk Sosebee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Allen Sosebee, brothers, Claude, Homer, Jay, and Hubert Sosebee, sisters, Flonia Smith, Dolly Allen and two infant sisters. Mr. Sosebee attended Cool Springs United Methodist Church. He worked in construction most of his life and drove a school bus for the Habersham County Schools for 20 plus years, before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed NASCAR, spending time with his family and enjoyed the company of his dog, Jake. Survivors include son, Larry Sosebee, Clarkesville, GA; sister, Lola Allen Gordon, Cleveland, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his dog Jake. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 from Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Kenneth McEntire and Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
