Howard Albert Beaver, age 90, of Clarkesville, Georgia, formerly of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Beavers was born on June 29, 1923 in Ritchy, Missouri; son of the late George (GW Pop). and Sophia Patterson Beaver. He was also preceded in death by his son, Howard Dwain Beaver and sisters, Freda Kilmer and Helen Martin. Mr. Beaver was a Veteran of the United States Army having served his county during World War II as an Ambulance driver and Rifleman. He participated in American, England and European-African-Middle Eastern campaigns. Mr. Beaver earned the Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal for his service in the England campaign. He was a custodian in the Yuba County, California school system and was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church, Clarkesville, GA. Mr. Howard Beaver was better known as Albert Beaver, he was a very loving and Christian person; that loved his family and friends, and he prayed for them everyday throughout his entire life. Survivors include, mother of his children, Evelyn Lawson Beaver; daughter and son-in-law, Alberta and Delmar Dorsey, Clarkesville, GA; son, Norman Lewis Beaver, Springfield, OR; daughter-in-law, Karen White Beaver, Cabot, AR; grandchildren, Leonda and James Prentice, Blairsville, GA, Shannon Dorsey, Clarkesville, GA, Jennifer and Glenn Stinson, Olathe, KS, Jeanette and Justin Hamilton, Phoenix, AZ, Tammy Beaver, Linda, CA and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, in Joplin, Missouri. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Clarkesville Baptist Church, with Rev. Grady Walden officiating.
