Horace Lamar Smith

Horace Lamar Smith, age 76, of Lula, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 7th, 2019. Mr. Smith was born on February 22nd, 1942 in Cornelia, Georgia to the late James Gilmer and Elsie Katherine Davis Smith. He retired with nearly 30 years of service with Wrigley's Manufacturing. He was a member of The Grove Church in Maysville. Mr. Smith was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Joyce Brown Smith, of Lula; sons, Mark Smith, of Oakwood; Craig Smith, of Oakwood; step-sons, Shannon Wilson, of Lula, Dwayne Wilson, of Lula; and his beloved pet, Jack. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 am,Thursday, January 10th, 2019 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor John Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 at the funeral home.
