Heyward Anthony Dodd

Heyward Anthony Dodd, age 53, of Alto, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Friday, July 29, 2016 having victory over his six plus years battle with Cancer by going to his heavenly home. Mr. Dodd was born on February 10, 1963 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Chester Edwin and Margaret Davidson Dodd. He was a member of Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church. Mr. Dodd was a self-employed welder, fabricator, and erector. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Hix Dodd, of Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Gina Dodd, of Lula; Justin and Brittany Dodd, of Baldwin; step-son and spouse, Christopher and Holly Holloway, of Maysville; sister, Sharon Echols, of Lula; brothers, Hoyt Dodd, of Lula; Harvey Dodd; of Lula; Chester "Pete" Dodd, Jr., of Alto; grandchildren, Kylie, Cannon, Kelsey, Raylynn, Carson, and Dakota. Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Cornelia C.H. Church with Rev. Terry Benfield, Rev. Jonathan Fitzpatrick, Hoyt Dodd, and Rev. John Umberhant officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rhonda Dodd, P.O. Box 320, Alto, Georgia 30510 to help pay outstanding medical expenses.
